Can we agree that ministers are in the front lines on a daily basis? and because they are on the frontlines the enemy attacks them so boldly because they are a clear target.
Encourage your leaders Since the beginning of walking into ministry the number one thing we were told by other ministers was that “ministry is lonely.” When I heard that it didn’t register until we were in ministry for a couple of years. Why is it lonely? Because not everyone will understand you, stand with you, like you, love you and most certainly not everyone supports you. It’s not just for ministers of course but now that we have done this for a few years it’s such a reality. Don’t get me wrong God does provide people in difference seasons of life. Can we agree that ministers are in the front lines on a daily basis? and because they are on the frontlines the enemy attacks them so boldly because they are a clear target. I know we choose the month of October to celebrate our pastors but to honor the people of God that pour in to us on a daily basis should be also a daily thing. I can speak for myself from all I’ve been through ministers are human too! We make mistakes, we hurt people, we miss things, we also have emotions, feelings, private battles that no one will ever understand. All my years growing up in church I never understood the struggles ministers go through until I became one. Pray for your pastors, encourage them you never know if they needed a word of encouragement that day. Stop thinking everyone encourages them because you would be surprised. Many cry in silence and live in brokenness but have to help the broken, the sick and the weary. In their dry seasons they speak rain into ours, in the wilderness they fight their battles and help us with ours, in the mountain top they receive perspective to teach us how to change ours. We see the pulpits but we don’t see the floors drenched in sweat and tears crying out for their churches, their community, their states. Speak life, pray, encourage your pastors, leaders and ministers trust me when I say that is one of the greatest gifts you can give them. Give them lots of grace, love them, love their families and pray pray pray for them. -Madai
